Well Construction Project Management SpringRock Energy....You deserve SpringRock

SpringRock Energy provides an end to end solution for Well Construction all through to Production commencement point for Oil and Gas Exploration and Production operators. We possess a wide range of capabilities in the business domains outlined herein.

Our Project Management services delivers the best technical solution in the well construction chain maintaining schedules and deliverables in line with well-defined project plans.  It also includes Management and Coordination of third party services for Drilling and Completions operations.

The components of Management Services we undertake include:

Well Construction Project Management – WCPM

Our WCPM uses a Well Delivery Process (WDP), which is a SREL established methodology to deliver projects of various kinds. SREL’s WDP works through a series of challenge process from concept development until the project close out. The whole process works on a systematic “Check and Approve Process” called “CAP” that has 6 significant and defined stages.

They are:

  • Concept Select Stage – CSS
  • Basis of Design and Statement of Requirements for Well Construction – BoD-SoR
  • Detailed Design, Engineering and Preparation – DDEP
  • Execution and Drilling Operations Management – EDOM
  • Real Time and Post Phase/Post Well Reviews – RTWRs
  • Project Closure and Handing Over – PCHO

The six stage well delivery process is presented below:

process3

Through this defined systematic 6 stage process, the wells are delivered through a package of policies, procedures, technical  manuals,  operational  practices,  audits  and  inspections  and execution methodologies.

A detailed process of each of the stage is available in our capability statement document and will be presented to Clients at the time of kick off of the project.

Modular Well Delivery Process

We recognize that clients may not want to engage us for the entire suite of Well Construction Project Management. Hence our product is modularized to enable a client engage us as they desire. Depending on the need we can be involved in two or more modules as shown below

SREL can provide all three stages or even a subset, for example the Detailed Design, Engineering and Preparation – DDEP only

module1

A subset of this commonly called Integrated Project Management – IPM

module2

Challenge and Peer Review of Client In-house Design and Engineering Work.

SREL Challenge and Peer Review Process is a well-established model that will aid to deliver a practical executable drilling program with optimum design addressing risks, mitigation and cost. SREL peer review team is highly experienced in conducting such peer review and well optimization process to achieve effective design. An effective design approach is illustrated below:

Effective Design Approach Model

SREL customized process supports clients in achieving their goal through Challenge and Peer Review Process of the Engineering work done by the clients.

We would typically hold an initial workshop with the client and the final workflow will be designed post our workshop and there will be continuous interaction and integration with the client in-house design and engineering team.

Specialized Technical Services

Technical services provided by SpringRock Energy include:

Our FDP solutions deliver an FDP via:

  1. Integration of the requirements for Subsurface, (b) Reservoir Engineering, (c) Well Construction, (d) Projects and Facilities, (e) Operations and Production, (f) Legal and Contracts, (g) Finance, (h) Compliance and Statutory, (i) QHSE, (j) Community and Logistics and (k) Management to develop a valid FDP through a seamless process involving a review and challenge process.
  2. Defines the Statement of Requirements (SOR) for the FDP in consultation with each stakeholder of FDP including Corporate Key Business Drivers and Economics model.
  3. Deliver an FDP which is a bankable and approvable document and leads to internal client FID/Sanction.
  4. Management of challenges on interface issues between various disciplines within the client organization such that the FDP flow is seamless and results in an efficiently executable document.
  5. Delivery of a complete FDP on target and in line of requirements

Provide a full completion engineering and supervision service which can add significant value to the project in the areas of Conceptual & Detailed Design, Tubing Stress Analysis, Programs review, Risk Assessments, Onsite Supervision and Post Job Reporting.

Our expertise can be brought to bear in the unplanned event of well control challenges

SpringRock Energy undertake the audit of work done by partners of an operator to highlight areas where the process has been optimal and areas for continuous improvement enabling a partner to proactively engage the operator in a project they hold an interest for optimization, operational and cost efficiencies.

Post project performance review can be conducted on request to understand the learnings and optimize future projects.

Drill the Well on Paper (“DWOP”) is a critical and essential element in the success of delivering a well. However, the industry standard DWOPs are a modified version of Pre-Spud meetings that adds only a small value to the delivery process. SREL’s DWOP is a custom designed specialized process that involves detailed preparation including a peer review challenge of the design and program to the design team.

Despite all the advances in drilling and completion of wells in the past 60 years, even today at least 30% of the wells drilled in the world encounter surprises while drilling resulting in a compromise to well objectives or high budget over-runs or failures. The primary reason for such failures is surprises during drilling and the root cause for such surprises is inadequate planning and preparation.

Our Well Reliability Service provides powerful and practical problem-solving expertise for enhancing the value of assets by the application of sound technical, business and strategic fundamentals to achieve practical and results orientated advice for further execution.

SREL can assist clients with the investigation of unplanned events including accidents to extract all relevant learning points from such incidents.

SREL has expertise within the company to assist Operators to achieve a technical limit in drilling the wells and fast tracking the project. The simple definition of “Technical Limit Drilling” is to arrive at the lowest time possible to drill a well in the field through a defined technical approach and analysis using the data from previous wells and offset wells and help Operators to actually achieve this lowest time possible.
