Economic Empowerment of Women is one of the most effective ways of enhancing the economic development of local communities. Hence this is a strategic pillar of the SpringRock involvement in the local communities where we work.

Economic Empowerment of Women results in the improvement of their wellbeing and that of their families. This act consequently uplifts their communities. To achieve economic empowerment of women, SpringRock would invest in focus areas which we believe would bring measurable impact. These areas include:

Engagement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders;
Provision of modern techniques for enhancement of farming practices;
Empowerment of women to engage in medium to large scale farming; and
Collaboration with Women Organizations and Support Groups.

Engagement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders: This would involve support in the areas of

Skills development and improvement in management practices;
Provision of access to technology and modern tools for supporting and enhancing their business;
Provision of training on supply chain practices, cost management, and collaboration; and
Access to finance.

Provision of modern techniques for enhancement of farming practice: This would involve support in the areas of

Training workshops on modern farming methods;
Provision of access to information and sources of tools and products that can enhance yields and protect produce;
Provision of training on supply chain practices, cost management, and collaboration; and
Access to finance.

Empowerment of women to engage in medium to large scale farming: This would involve support in the areas of

Training workshops on formation of partnerships and cooperatives;
Provision of access to information and sources of tools and products that can enhance yields and protect produce;
Provision of training on supply chain practices, cost management, and collaboration;
Training on how to identify business opportunities with various buyers of their produce; and
Access to finance.

Collaboration with Women Organizations and Support Groups: This would involve support in the areas of

Periodic workshops;
Participation in their activities; and
Support and sponsorship of initiatives that enhance the wellbeing of the women in the communities.
